ACM/IFIP Middleware 2019 Conference - Call for Industry Track, Tutorial,
Posters, Demos and Workshops
http://2019.middleware-conference.org
where and when
UC Davis, CA; Dec 9 - 13, 2019
Confirmed keynote speakers:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Brian Cooper - Google
Monica Lam - Stanford University
Ion Stoica - Berkeley
Call for Industry papers
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Industrial Track of the Middleware 2019 Conference solicits 6-page
papers for presentation during the main conference (single track) and
inclusion in the ACM Digital Library. The topics of interest are similar
to those in the general conference call for papers. However, the purpose
of the Industrial Track is to emphasize the practical issues,
observations, and measurements of “real-world” systems and applications
and to disseminate information of particular interest to middleware
researchers, architects, developers and administrators. For more
information and submission guidelines see
http://2019.middleware-conference.org/industry.html
Important Dates for Industry Track:
Paper Submission September 6, 2019
Author Notification September 30, 2019
Camera Ready October 18, 2019
Call for Demos and Posters
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Middleware 2019 will provide a forum for live software demonstrations of
middleware applications, systems, and tools. Demos could take a wide and
open-ended variety of forms. Typical examples include: (i) presentation
of an application that leverages advanced middleware concepts, (ii)
working through coding of an example on a novel middleware platform, or
(iii) real-time visualizations of middleware system metrics under
simulated workloads. Although the form may vary, demo presenters should
take advantage of not being constrained by the format of a traditional
slide presentation. Demos are encouraged for both early prototypes and
mature technology. Posters will provide an opportunity for conference
attendees to learn about innovative work in progress and to preview
late-breaking research results. Poster sessions will provide an informal
setting for presenters to communicate ideas or results and also to
collect feedback from attendees.
Demo or poster contributions are solicited in all areas of middleware
research and applications. For a list of applicable topics, please
consider those from the call for papers. For more details and submission
guidelines see http://2019.middleware-conference.org/demo.html
Demos and Posters Deadlines:
Paper Submission September 6, 2019
Author Notification September 30, 2019
Camera Ready October 15, 2019
Call for Workshops
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Middleware conference traditionally includes a number of
high-quality workshops. We invite experts on related research subjects
to submit one-day or half-day workshop proposals in scope of Middleware
2019. Proposed workshops can be on any topic related to middleware, but
we are particularly interested in new workshops in emerging middleware
areas. For more details and submission guidelines see
http://2019.middleware-conference.org/workshop.html
Important Dates for Workshop proposals:
Proposal Submission May 24, 2019
Proposal Acceptance Notification May 31, 2019
Website and CFP Online June 14, 2019
Paper Submission August 30, 2019
Paper Notification September 27, 2019
Paper Camera Ready October 18, 2019
Call for Tutorial Proposals
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Middleware is an umbrella term for the diverse software that resides
between applications and underlying hardware and systems software. It
facilitates the development of applications by providing higher-level
abstractions for better programmability, performance, scalability, and
security. It is an important and rapidly evolving field with many open
problems and challenges. For more information and submission guidelines
see http://2019.middleware-conference.org/tutorial.html
Important Dates for Tutorials Track:
Tutorial Proposal Deadline June 15, 2019
Tutorial Proposal Acceptance Notification July 15, 2019
