========================================================================= Call for Papers - Special Issue on Exascale Computing CCF Transactions on High Performance Computing (CCF THPC) ========================================================================= Driven by the ever increasing demand of scientific and engineering applications and the rapidly expanding field of big data analytics, high performance computing (HPC) has become a mainstream of computing in both academia and industry. The CCF Transactions on High Performance Computing (CCF THPC) is dedicated to publishing rigorously peer reviewed, high-quality articles covering all aspects of HPC, spanning from design, service, and theory, to its practical use and applications. It also addresses interdisciplinary topics like operating systems, networking and software engineering. More details of CCF THPC can be found at: http://www.springer.com/42514. As the inaugural issue of CCF THPC, this special issue aims to bring together researchers, professionals and industrial practitioners to share the forefront development of Exascale computing. We welcome original, previously unpublished manuscripts that have a strong correlation to Exascale computing. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: • Strategic plans and R&D activities on Exascale computing in leading HPC countries • Processor, memory and network architectures for building Exascale machines • Highly scalable parallel algorithms for Exascale computing • Extreme-scale scientific and engineering computing applications • Energy efficient and fault resilient techniques • Programming models, languages and systems • High performance libraries and software infrastructures • Exascale data analytics and AI applications • Parallel file, storage and archival systems • Performance tuning, measuring and benchmarking Papers of the special issue must contain original contributions and are not currently under review by a conference or a journal. In addition, the manuscripts should be prepared in accordance with the journal standards. Instructions for the authors are available online at: http://www.springer.com/42514. Manuscripts should be submitted online at: https://www.editorialmanager.com/thpc/default.aspx. Authors must select article type: “Special Issue on Exascale Computing” in Editorial Manager for the submission to be considered for this special issue. In addition, the cover letter should report the following statement: “This paper is submitted for possible publication in the Special Issue on Exascale Computing.” All manuscripts will be subjected to the peer review process. Important Dates • Paper submission: 15 September 2018 (with possibly one week of extension) • Completion of first review: 1 November 2018 • Submission of final manuscripts and copyright forms: 5 December 2018 • Expected publication date: 15 February 2019 Guest Editors • Torsten Hoefler, ETH Zurich • Keqin Li, State University of New York • Hatem Ltaief, King Abdullah University of Science and Technology • Kengo Nakajima, The University of Tokyo • Chao Yang, Peking University • Albert Zomaya, The University of Sydney
