The ACM/IEEE UCC 2017 conference pleased to announce the availability of student travel grants sponsored by National Science Foundation (NSF) to support student attendance at the UCC conference. Students may also wish to refer to the separately available BDCAT 2017 student travel award program on the BDCAT 2017 site. 

Eligibility Criteria:
To qualify, a student must be studying at an accredited U.S. institution. (U.S. citizenship is not required.) Student recipients will be reimbursed (based on valid receipts) after the conference. Reimbursement will be available only for one or the other of the UCC or BDCAT award programs, but applications may be submitted to both.

Application Procedure:
An application for a student travel grant will consist of the following documents. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

A request letter from the student (see below).
The student's Curriculum Vitae.
A recommendation letter from the student's graduate advisor.

The letter from the student should be at most one page, and include the following information:

1. Whether the student has an authored paper being accepted by UCC 2017 or the workshops and the paper title (if available). Students with papers accepted by the conference will be given higher priority.
2. A brief summary of research interests;
3. Whether and when the student has received US NSF travel grants before.

The advisor's recommendation letter for the student should include:

1. Confirmation that student is a full-time Ph.D. or M.S. candidate at the given institution.
2. The suitability of the UCC 2017 program material to the student’s research area.
3. The advisor’s commitment to covering the student’s travel cost in excess of the travel grant.
