===========
Introduction:

Cloud is a virtual computing resource, which realizes self-maintenance and management, usually in the form of some large server cluster, including computing servers, storage servers, bandwidth resources, etc. Cloud computing is the fusion and development of grid computing, distributed computing, parallel computing, utility computing, network storage technologies, virtualization, load balancing and other traditional computer technologies and network technology. Virtualization, dynamicity and scalability, the distributed mass data storage and management, as well as flexible service, are the main technologies of cloud computing. There are still many challenges in cloud systems and platform, cloud computing, database, virtualization, reuse and elasticity problems.

Big data overall architecture consists of three layers: data storage, data processing and data analysis. Data storage layer stores complex type and mass data, data processing layer realizes real-time processing of massive data, and only through data analysis layer, smart, in-depth and valuable information are got. When talking about big data, one thinks first to the 4V characteristics of big data, namely Volumes, Variety, Velocity, and Veracity. Big data processing key technology generally includes: data acquisition, data pre-processing, data storage and data management, data analysis and mining, big show and application (big data retrieval, data visualization, big data applications, data security, etc.).

The IEEE International Conference on Cloud and Big Data Computing is a premier forum for researchers, practitioners, developers and users who are interested in cloud computing and big data to explore new ideas, techniques and tools, as well as to exchange experience. Besides the latest research achievements. This conference also covers innovative commercial data management systems, innovative commercial applications of cloud computing and big data technology, and experience in applying recent research advances to real-world problems. After the success of IEEE CBDCom 2015 in Beijing, China, and CBDCom 2016 in Toulouse, France, CBDCom 2017 will be the third edition of the lnternational Conference.

Scope and Topics:

Call for Papers:
The IEEE International Conference on Cloud and Big Data Computing is a premier forum for researchers, practitioners, developers and users who are interested in both cloud computing and big data to explore new ideas, techniques and tools. The conference also presents a venue for all to exchange ideas and experiences. Besides the latest research achievements, this conference also covers innovative commercial data management systems, innovative commercial applications of cloud computing and big data technologies, and experiences in applying recent research advances to real-world problems. After the success of IEEE CBDCom 2015 in Beijing, China, and CBDCom 2016 in Toulouse, France, CBDCom 2017 will be the third edition of the International Conference.
Topics of particular interest include, but are not limited to:
• Big data algorithms, applications and services
• Big data mining and analytics
• Big data processing and querying
• Cloud and big data for the Internet of Things (IoT)
• Government and industrial experiences for cloud and big data
• Green computing and networking technologies for cloud and big data
• Software engineering for cloud computing and big data
• Cloud computing solutions and platforms
• Privacy and security for cloud and big data
• Big data visualization
• Big data education
• Virtualization technologies, cloud data management and storage, cloud resource management and QoS

Call for Workshop and Special Sessions:
Big Data overall architecture consists of three layers: data storage, data processing and data analysis. "Cloud" is virtual computing resources, which realize self-maintenance and management, usually in the form of some large server cluster, including computing servers, storage servers, band-width resources and so on. Today, big data, together with advances in cloud computing techniques, brings big opportunities and transformative potential for various sectors such as enterprises and industry manufacturing. CBDCom 2017 calls for workshops and special sessions which will complement the research topics of the Cloud and Big Data Computing.
A special session is an embedded session in the main conference, focusing on a specific research topic relevant to cloud and big data computing. Each special issue will be expected to accept 4 - 6 full-length papers. A workshop refers to an academic event co-located with IEEE CBDCom 2017. Workshop papers should follow the same Paper Submission Guidelines for the main conference papers. Accepted papers for both workshops and special sessions will be included in the CBDCom 2017 proceedings published by IEEE (submitted to the IEEE-DL and EI index).
Workshop/Special Session proposals should contain following information:
• The title of the workshop/special session, including both full name and abbreviation (for workshop)
• The objectives, scope, and contributions to the main conference (up to 1 page)
• The short bios of the key organizers and their related experience
• The procedure for selecting papers, plans for dissemination (e.g., how to advertise and special issues of journals), and the expected number of participants
• A tentative list of program committee members
• The (tentative) website/URL of the proposed workshop and special sessions
Workshop/Special Session organizers are responsible for forming program committees, circulating call for papers, organizing submission and review as well as planning the final program. IEEE CBDCom 2017 Workshop/Special Session Co-chairs will assist in organizing workshops and ensure their quality and success. The registration fees for workshops/special sessions will be determined by the main conference and will be paid to the conference directly. The conference will provide workshop/special session facilities. Workshops/Special Sessions should strictly follow the important dates. The paper submission deadline could be after that of the main conference to allow workshops to pick up some good papers submitted to the main conference. However, sufficient time (5-7 weeks), should be allocated for peer reviews. Each paper should be reviewed by at least three experts in the corresponding areas.
Please email your stimulating workshop / session proposals in PDF format by Jan. 30, 2017 to the workshop co-chairs: qzhang at stfx.ca.
Please use "CBDCom 2017 workshop and special session proposal" as the email subject.

Submission Guidelines
The main conference papers are limited to 8 pages long and must follow the IEEE proceedings format.

Submit your paper(s) in PDF file at the submission site: https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=cbdcom2017

Paper Publication

Accepted conference papers will be published by IEEE (IEEE-DL and EI indexed). At least one author of each accepted paper is required to register and present their work at the conference; otherwise the paper will not be included in the proceedings. Best Paper Awards will be presented to high quality papers. Selected papers will be recommended to journal special issues. More details can be found via the conference website:
