In many scientific disciplines, High Performance Computing (HPC) has 
become a necessary and standard research tool and additional disciplines 
are discovering HPC for their needs. Different architectures and the 
complexity of the systems require deep understanding of the underlying 
hardware and a perfectly fit application. For the latter goal, 
performance measurement tools are essential. New programming paradigms 
and languages as well as the rapid hardware development call for an 
ongoing development in the field of performance measurement tools as 
well – adapting to new communication routines, new programming 
interfaces and new hardware possibilities. At the same time, 
user-friendliness and usability are of immense importance.

Topics include, but not limited to:

- Performance measurements for communication routines
- Interfaces for performance measurement tools
- Adaptation of performance measurement tools to new architectures and APIs
- Application profiling tools and results
- Application benchmarking tools and results
- Application I/O performance measurements
