http://www.ieee.org/conferences_events/conferences/publishing/templates.html
All paper submissions must represent original and unpublished work. Eachsubmission will be peer reviewed by at least three program committee members.Should the paper be accepted, at least one of the authors must register for theconference and present the work. All accepted and presented papers will bepublished in conference proceedings by IEEE CPS (EI indexed).
Submit your paper(s) at the submission site:
http://www.cs.gsu.edu/~bdcloud
Some of the best works from all accepted andpresented BDCloud 2016 papers (after their expansion and second round ofindependent reviews) will be invited into special issues of carefully chosenIEEE and ACM journals. We contacted the editorial board of three journals andreceived encouraging response about the possibility of offering a special issueof this journal based on the works presented during the BDCloud 2016 conference.

Introduction
---------------------------------
Big data is a term applied to many data sets withsizes going beyond the ability of commonly used software tools to capture, manage, process and analyze the data within a tolerable time period. Suchdatasets are usually characterized by having high VARIETY due to the data comingfrom various sources or having highly unstructured character (examples includedata from social media, sensor networks, scientific applications, video andimage formats, websites and documents, Internet search indexes, medicalrecords, business transactions, web logs, etc.); and large VOLUMES that areneeded to be processed with high data VELOCITY (I/O-intensive systems). Moreover, big data need to be high VALUE and VERACITY for decision makers to effectively take action and trust theresults and rationale.
Cloud computing is an increasingly popularapproach for delivering information infrastructures and resources as computingservices. A broad range of customers (both enterprises and individuals) can usuallyprovision and deploy Cloud services via pay-as-you-go pricing models, which letthem save significant capital investments in their own computing infrastructures. As estimated by IDC, by 2020, about 40% dataglobally will be touched with Cloud Computing.
Cloud Computing can provide significant storage, computation, and distribution capabilities in support of solving multiple BigData challenges. The BDCloud (Big Data and Cloud Computing) conference wascreated to provide a prime international forum for researchers, industrypractitioners, and domain experts to exchange the latest advances in Big Dataand Cloud Computing as well as support synergy of both fields.
