Call for Participation in WiP paper Session:

The OpenSHMEM User Group (OUG 2014) is an user meeting dedicated to the promotion and
advancement of all aspects of the OpenSHMEM API and its tools eco-system.
We welcome submissions in the form of the work-in-progress WiP (up to 2 pages)
from academia, industry, and research laboratories. The submissions will be peer-reviewed
and selected for the oral presentations at the WiP session.

The OpenSHMEM User Group Meeting’s Work-in-Progress (WiP)
session will be held on October 7, 2014.The WiP session will consist of a series of talks
on ongoing research or ideas to improve the OpenSHMEM specification. This is a chance
to present the ongoing research that
is not yet ready for publication and to get feedback on your work from the experts
in the field. The work should be original and have never been presented before.
We are interested in the research that is novel and interesting, even if it is premature.
A particular interest for this session are submissions in the form of outrageous
ideas and work-in-progress.

Topics of interest for the WiP session include (but are not limited to):
• Experiences in OpenSHMEM applications in any domain
• Extensions to and shortcomings of current OpenSHMEM specification
• Hybrid heterogeneous or many-core programming with OpenSHMEM and other languages or APIs
(i.e. OpenCL, OpenACC, CUDA, OpenMP)
• Experiences in implementing OpenSHMEM on new architectures
• Low level communication layers to support OpenSHMEM or other PGAS languages/APIs
• Power / energy studies of OpenSHMEM
• Static analysis and verification tools for OpenSHMEM
• Modeling and performance analysis tools for OpenSHMEM and/or other PGAS languages/APIs.
• Auto-tuning or optimization strategies for OpenSHMEM programs
• Runtime environments and schedulers for OpenSHMEM
• Validation and verification suites for OpenSHMEM
• Interoperability with other PGAS models such as UPC, and Co-Array Fortran

The WiP session talks will be selected on the basis of a two-page paper submitted on or before September 8, 2014.
Email notification of acceptance or rejection will be made by September 16, 2014.
