Cloud Computing has made significant inroads into services utilized by
consumers, enterprise, and research. By allowing computing, storage,
and communicational resources to be made available to the users
elastically, cloud computing provides a framework for systems to
scale. However, current resource orchestration and management
methodologies are unable to cope with complex cloud applications and
data volumes as required by BigData applications. There is a need to
develop innovative and effective solutions that can manage complex
resources of the underlying cloud environments while also providing a
platform to analyze the stored data in the cloud. Such frameworks
would catalyze innovative solutions to problems in power grids,
medicine, and enterprise domains.

The special issue will primarily encompass theoretical and practical
solutions for scalable data management solutions and their analysis in
cloud computing environments for BigData applications. The topics of
interest include, but are not limited to:
a. Cloud data analytics and BigData
b. Cloud data replication and placement
c. Data movement and synchronization
d. Federated cloud data management
e. Queries over unstructured data
f. Time-series data management
g. Visualization of Big Data
h. Management of data volumes, velocity, and variety
i. Big Data in the sciences and enterprises
j. NoSQL databases in Clouds
