Chris and John,

Yes, the HD-SDI and HD-Component outputs work at the same time on the Sony EVI-HD1. We are using both at the same time at our site.

Since the Component is HD-Component it outputs at the same time as the HD-SDI in the HD modes. In the SD modes you can use Composite and S-video at the same time.

The camera will output only HD or SD video though so you cannot output HD-SDI and composite at the same time.

The signal formats are switchable but HD-SDI and HD-Component us the same format and there is nowhere to select what port the signal outputs from (i.e. SDI or Component, Composite or S-video).

The switch settings are below:
HD Mode: 1080/59.94i, 1080/50i, 1080/29.97p, 1080/25p, 720/59.94p, 720/50p, 720/29.97p, 720/25p.
SD Mode: NTSC and PAL - Each with options for 16:9 to 4:3(Letter Box, Crop, or Squeeze)

We used a Lenkeng LKV7611 - Component to Composite & S-Video Converter to down convert to SD. (Works well for under $50)

I too thought I could only get one out of the camera at a time... Had to
manually switch...
