[AG-TECH] Multicast Problem on a Hardy Heron Client

Hello All:

I have successfully installed and used AG v3.2 on a small PC running
Ubuntu, v8.04-(Hardy Heron). The problem is that although my network is
multicast enabled, in order to use multicast on this particular machine
I have to do ifconfig eth0 promisc

Would anybody have a suggestion how to resolve this issue?
