[AG-TECH] Venue Client startup problem

Would it not be worth considering making 'multicast = 0' default ?

If a unicast connection was made default, then most new VenueClient installations would actually work when they are first launched into a venue (new users rarely understand what multicast is, and don't even have it enabled on their network).

The VenueClient installation guide we distribute to UK users actually recommends that the 'use unicast bridges instead of multicast' option is ticked when configuring the client profile during installation.

Cheers, Ben.

Ken:

The failure to launch is a known bug in that beta. You can work around
it by editing ~/.AccessGrid3/Config/preferences, and changing this line:

multicast = True (or maybe False)

to

multicast = 1

or you can use 0 if you don't have multicast available.
