[AG-TECH] AG on Vista - Success Anyone??

Hi Jason,

I've been running a personal node on a Vista x64 system for
months now. It started off working perfectly with AG 3.1
and when I tried the 3.2 beta I didn't have much success so
I went back to 3.1. It doesn't work as well as it used to
on one respect; when I enter a venue or change between
multicast and unicast I get a message from vic.exe saying
"bind: An invalid argument was supplied."
The producer vic starts but the consumer vic doesn't. I have to
unmute the producer vic windows to see video, but otherwise both
audio and video work fine. If I try to use a "VideoService"
instead of separate producer and consumers, the service addition
fails with a Message: "Add Service failed:VideoService",

I haven't had time to fiddle with the software, so a clean
reinstall might make it work again, although as I recall I was
trying the 3.2 beta around the time that Vista SP1 came out,
so the problem might have been introduced with that.

I didn't do anything special for the install, just downloaded
dependencies using the AG website links.

I'm using a Logitech Communicate STX camera and whatever the
onboard audio on a Thunder K8WE MB is, with Vista Enterprise x64.

Jon.

Subject: [AG-TECH] AG on Vista - Success Anyone??

G’day All

Just a quick one!  I was wondering if anyone has had any success with
having the AG working on Vista ?

If you have, can you tell me the following info please?

• Which version were you using (3.1 or 3.2 beta?, the all in one
installer, or the separate packages);

• Does all of the following work:

o Vic
o Rat
o VPCScreen
o VenueVNC

• Was there anything special you had to do to get it working.

The reason for the question is I “quickly” tried installing the software
on Vista and had some pythonw errors.  Before I investigate further
tomorrow, I am just wanting to hear if anyone has had any success and
was there anything special you had to do to get it working?

Many thanks in advance,
Jason.
