[AG-TECH] matchmaker question

I'm in the process of FINALLY setting up a node and am wondering what the 
purpose of the Matchmaker is and whether it is a requirement.

Thank you all for your help so far and continued assistance in the future 
as I'm sure I'll have more questions.
