Dear Chris,
We have integrate MPEG4 codec into vic last year.
The modified vic also support 720x480 resolution (the largest resolution
depends on your grabber)

Also, VP team also released video producer and consumer services using
MPEG4-enabled vic

Recently, we have done some efforts to optimize H264 codec from VLC's X264
library.
Plan to release H264-enable vic in the late June.
However, due to higher complexity,
currently H264 is much suitable for very low bit rate cases than real-time
HDTV transmission.
