[AG-TECH] Osprey 440 Cards, Matrox QID Video Card, Recommended Soundcard

Thanks Derek / Peter for those comments. I'll be testing the Matrox QID
PCI-e Card in the next few days. I believe it is built for Low Profile
machines but comes with a bracket to fit ATX cases? We would be looking
at putting in an ATX case.

I have tried the Spectra8 Card and it works well under Windows. The only
problem however is under windows xp, every time I go into a room, 4
popups come up and I have to select each of the video sources. Not a big
problem but quite annoying. Is there a way around this? Can this be hard
coded into the Access Grid to automatically select each of the video
sources? I know that this problem doesn't happen under Linux.

Also Winnov Video Quattro Cards are a possiblilty. I have read in
earlier posts that quite a few people use this. Does it work well under
Windows XP?

Cheers,
Nathan

	While I've not used the 4-port Osprey, I have used a Spectra8
which has
4 bt878 chips on it. It works very well, just like 4 independent capture
cards except it's only taking up one slot. I don't know if the Osprey
has the same chips on it, I know the Osprey 100 we have uses the 878 so
I could *assume* that it does, but I don't know.
We have a Matrox QID AGP, but we run ours in 'stretched' 2x2
mode and have had no problems at all.

is the driver was not mature enough, that may have changed by now, but i
could get no response from matrox (other than "we are not aware of any
problems with this product"). We didnt have another mainboard to test
it with, so the problems may have been compatability issues, but im
leaning to the driver issue myself. In the end we left it in the AG,
and will prob use it in others.
