I think the Berkeley openmash version is currently only used for the 
OSX release of the AG toolkit. The default version is based on the UCL 
version, but with some changes - available via:
	http://www-unix.mcs.anl.gov/fl/research/accessgrid/software/cvs.html
or (for web viewing) at;
	http://fl-cvs.mcs.anl.gov/viewcvs/viewcvs.cgi/ag-media/

 From the vic directory, look in the video directory for all the 
grabber-*.cpp files - they're the ones which integrate different 
devices for vic - in particular grabber-video4lnux.cpp.

The main issue here is that the v4l driver assumes one of the BT878 
family of chips on the video card. A number of manufacturers (including 
Hauppauge) are now using a different chip, typically a Conexant brand

Yes, it would be great to have a grabber application that needs just a 
single instance to deal with multiple video streams.
