Hi Ti,

Here is the output that you asked for:

venues root # emerge info
Portage 2.0.50-r9 (default-x86-2004.2, gcc-3.3.3, glibc-2.3.3.20040420-r0,
2.4.26-gentoo-r6)

and the output from "qpkg -I -i -v > qpkg.out.txt" is attached.
I have a couple of perl packages that have USE flags including -threads
That option doesn't appear anywhere else.

My /etc/make.conf doesn't have a USE list yet, I guess I'm getting
package defaults:

   venues root # more /etc/make.conf
   # These settings were set by the catalyst build script that automatically

   #  built this stage
   # Please consult /etc/make.conf.example for a more detailed example
   CFLAGS="-O2 -mcpu=i686 -fomit-frame-pointer"
   CHOST="i386-pc-linux-gnu"
   CXXFLAGS="${CFLAGS}"
   PORTDIR_OVERLAY="/usr/local/portage"

Would adding USE="-threads" and recompiling X be enough?

Thank you,
Jon.
