Jason,
We have found the AccuMic II to be really excellent for desktop or very
small room nodes. I've seen them used in a lecture theatre environment,
but it was a disaster really. By "small room", I mean small enough so
that all participants can be within about 5-6ft of the unit. That
probably limits the number of participants. There is an extension unit
for the AccuMic, which would raise that limit (but also doubles the
price).
For larger environments, the XAP400 (or Vortex) is essential. I think
the AP & XAP400 are by far the most widely used in the community, but
Vortex users are quite keen on their choice too.
