[AG-TECH] 2.2 stability? Anyone gotten it to run?

I realize that this iteration changed a lot of the underlying code, so I'm
guessing that it's going to take a while for things to settle down.

I have been attempting, on a laptop, and on my home machine, to get a test
situation running, so I can at least see what the new features are. After
multiple attempts, I have yet to get to any where near what I had running
on 2.1.2. I will be attempting this some more - I haven't given up, but it
is getting bloody frustrating. I will undoubtedly be filling up Bugzilla
at the same time.

So far, I've been attempting to install both a venue server and a client on
machines that have unpredictable connections to the network and to DNS
services, and I suspect that some of my problems stem from this.

How much dependency on a live network connection and access to DNS is there
for this to work? Shouldn't I be able to install all this on a
disconnected laptop? This doesn't seem to be the case. I do seem to
remember that I did NOT have these types of problems with 2.1.2.

I should add that all of the attempts so far to install the final of 2.2
have been on Windows XP.

The video consumer and producer services on XP seem to be much more
unstable or non-existant than in 2.1.2. I have yet to get a consumer to
show up, and attempts to install a producer with a Logitech Quickcam (which
worked great with 2.1.2), have resulted in hung clients and reboots
necessary when I couldn't kill the client. The only service which seems to
come up dependably is the RAT.

If anyone has any hints - and I know that this is general - I don't have my
laptop at this time - I'd sure like to hear them.

Perhaps I should wait for 2.2.1?
