The purpose of this workshop is to provide basic information about the
Distributed Rendering Environment (DRE) and, also, to introduce you to
the fundamentals of a render farm. The DRE, at Purdue University, is
part of the High Performance Classroom (HPC) initiative. Purdue
students can access the DRE by using their career account and will allow
them to render 3D models and animations over several computers across
the campus. The Purdue DRE initiative is a joint project between
Instructional Computing Services, Research Computing Services and the
Envision Center. It is currently in it's beta implementation.
