Just to add to what Ti said:

My experience has been that, depending on the driver, you can select the
WDM device in the configuration of multiple VideoProducers. When vic
starts up, one of the WDM cameras is automatically selected for the first
VideoProducer. Then you are given a series of dialogs to choose a camera
for each remaining VideoProducer. Again, whether you get to choose another
camera will depend on how the driver enumerates the cameras. The QuickCam
Pro 4000 does show you multiple cameras, but it gives them all the same
name. So, it can be confusing when trying to choose a camera for the
subsequent VideoProducers. If you have two different cameras, the WDM
drivers will assign names as appropriate and it's much easier to decide
which camera to choose. I have an iBot firewire camera and a QuickCam Pro
4000 so I can see which camera has become the default after the last
session. If you have two of the same camera and the driver doesn't assign
each a unique name, that's when you run into trouble.
