[AG-TECH] Rat errors on FC3

I know that there are some issues with some of the intel8x0 chipsets
w/ AC97 audio controller. Particularly when the intel8x0 driver tries
to use ALSA's oss emu.

I'd check a few other things first though.

1.) are you able to get sound at all? cat /dev/urandom > /dev/[dsp/audio]
2.) for FC3 is there some "audio" group your user needs to be a part
of? If not what do the permissions for the sound device look like?
3.) is this soundcard built-in to the motherboard? / which board?

If it is an issue with the OSS emu in ALSA and the intel8x0 driver I'd
recommend not using the OSS if you can avoid it and just use ALSA's
native support (though I'm not sure if rat needs oss? anyone?)

I ended up switching to a cheap $10 Soundblaster card and everything
works great with the emu10k1 drivers..
