[AG-TECH] Max number of sites?

Hi Paul,

I've seen as many as 36 sites, during the NSF ETF workshop (I think it was last fall? I'm not sure). Not all of them were sending video, though; some only appeared in rat.

I also seem to recall that we participated in the SC00 High Bandwidth Challenge (I think?) and though it wasn't an ordinary participatory AG session (we were just trying to eat up bandwidth, not having a meeting or anything), there were something like 90 video streams (which were from fewer than 90 sites, as of course many sites were sending multiple streams. Now mind you, the CPU on my display machine wasn't too happy, but since we use multicast we were far too efficient with the network to win.

<shameless-plug> And of course stay tuned for SC Global this year. We're currently planning to have 60 sites participating in an interactive fashion, plus some additional number participating through an Observer Sites reflector (ie, receiving audio and video but not transmitting). </shameless-plug>

Cheers,
Jennifer
