Robert,
It looks like what's happening is that more than one Event Manager
is being run. This is likely caused by double-clicking more than once on
the 'Start PIG' icon, or by not killing off all the 'javaw' processes when
you log-out.
On another note, I'd suggest you give 2.0 a shot. It's a very
different beast, and we've got regular walk-throughs and assistance on
getting it going on Tuesdays. It'll be easier to make it work, and easier
to debug, most likely ;-)
