Next time you see this, could you do a traceroute to venues.accessgrid.org and send the results to ag-tech? A few of us were chatting about this on the MOO, and we're all clueless about what the problem is, except to say we don't think it's a problem with the server (ie, we think it's network). It also might be useful to know whether you're only experiencing lag when you're posting things yourself, or everything's totally laggy.

Ditto for anybody else who's seeing this lag, of course. . .

i always get a lag of 20 seconds to a minute between typing something and having it show up as me saying it.

I don't think it's a problem with the server; I've never seen more than one or two seconds' lag except when major network problems were taking place.

Is anyone else still experiencing a slow response on the mud? I have it
installed not only on the access grid video machine but another PC that
is running virtually idle and the response time on both seems very slow.

yep, i still get a pretty bad lag from whatever i type.

same here. i've assumed that it's an issue with the server, which
i assume is running at argonne. other network connections seem fine,
so hard to blame it on that. is it possible that this is an argonne
server issue? not trying to place blame, just inquiring!
