hi all,

this event is going to be grid enabled..
if your site has people using the HP N-class supercomputer at UKy, they
might be interested in participating..

Thanks

HIGH PERFORMANCE COMPUTING PORTING AND OPTIMIZATION

Researchers and NCX users:

HP will come to the University of Kentucky on Thursday, September 21,
to conduct an Optimization and Porting Seminar, concentrating on ways
to make efficient use of our new HP N-class cluster:

    Date: Sept. 21, 2000
Time: 8:00 AM to 12:00 noon
    Place: 327 McVey Hall

    Here is a tentative Agenda:

    - Introduction of the UK HPC team.
    - In-depth compiler based optimizations
    - Going beyond compilers and how to restructure the code to
      improve performance
    - Parallel programming concepts
    - Parallelization using: compiler flags, directives, using
OpenMP directives, message passing interface, pthreads etc.
    - Cookbook-like tutorials on some important "how-to" topics
    - Performance optimization example using a (MM5) weather code
    - System level tunables, tools etc.

This should be very informative for experienced and inexperienced
users alike. We hope you can join us. Please pass the word around.
