ceiling mount microphones

Any suggestions for ceiling mount (ambient) microphones?  I have heard
that ANL has some mounted with plexiglass on the ceiling - how well does
it work for picking up conversation?

What should I allow for spacing between ceiling mount mics?
I'm looking at the Crown PZM-6D.  Any other suggestions would be
appreciated.
