alpha3 release today

If at all possible, I'd like to have all fixes that need to go in the
release today in by noon. That way I can get things packaged and the
mail sent out before I leave (I'd rather not be here till 8 again trying
to get everything out). So, by noon if you could stop making commits
that'd be great. Maybe shout on the mud that you're done. Once you're
done, I can package and release, and then everyone can go about
committing again.
