current state:
	startup works

	services start

	tools start properly when you go into a venue

	some set of exceptional conditions (bad GLOBUS_LOCATION, 
bad 	GLOBUS_HOSTNAME) caught when venue client started

current problems:

	venue transitions (at least on vv2:8500) don't work right with
	services going. tom checking other anomalies as well

	having personal data causes an excpeiton on venue traversal

	Linux client side needs a cleanup pass like I've done with
	windows over the past few days

	cert mgr initialization needs to be added to the service mgrs
	(personalNode mode works because the vclient spawns the service
	mgrs, so that they inherit state)

	on linux, non-stdin/out/err fds need to be closed before
	rat/vic spawned in services, otherwise they inherit and hold open
	the service mgr sockets

	need to get new linux RPMs built for rat, test rat-kill on linux
