Post-processing of pnetcdf data

PnetCDF supports CDF-1, CDF-2, and CDF-5.

My understanding of NCL is it supports file formats of
CDF-1, CDF-2 and HDF5, but currently not CDF-5.

Please check if the files you created are CDF-1 or CDF-2
in order to be used by NCL. Command "ncdump -k filename"
can show the format of a file.
