Hello Stefan,

this was indeed a problem with the maketools file (I can't figure out what happened...) . Your solution worked just fine.

You have to enable BIGMEM otherwise prenek will not compile unless you lower the memory footprint. I just tried to compile prenek with the GNU compilers and there was no problem?

It looks like your maketools is messed up.
Did you do a 'svn update'? If yes. please do the following:

cd ~/nek5_svn/trunk; rm -rf tools; svn update tools
