Argonne Pool League members,  Welcome back to the fall season.  We start Sept 20 and I have 2 new players joining the league.  Matthew Horwedel and William Hinton will be assigned to teams that have requested players.  Please welcome them.  I am also checking with 2 other players from the waiting list.  We may have room for additional players, so if you have friends or family who are interested, please let me know.  I’ve attached an email sent earlier to the captains, so you’ll know what they are considering.  Let your captains or me know if you have any comments.  See you all on the 20th.  - Dean

Hope everyone’s summer is going well.  Pool season is just around the corner and I wanted to get everyone thinking about it.  Some of you have asked when we will start and I told you Sept 13.  In an email in the spring I had stated we would start on Sept 20.  I’d like to use our original Sept 20 as our start date.

The most important thing I need to get going is recruiting if we need it.  I am aware of the following changes in the Team rosters.  Karle Blahut is the new captain of Team 8 “Holdin our Own”. And Chuck Blahut is the new captain for Team 1.  That team also has a new name “Cue Therapy”.  I really need to know if any teams need players.  I currently have a waiting list so if you need players I’d really like to find some of them a home.  I’ve attached the roster as it was at the end of last season, please let me know of any changes.

On the first night, we’ll have a brief captains meeting at 7pm to review the following proposals.
1.  The putting up of players will be determined by alternating the team that puts up instead of by the team that loses.
2. Increased handicapping of handicap differentials greater than 130.  I originally proposed this and I’m now less keen on it, however, if there is some interest, I’d like to discuss it.
3. Changing of the ranking in the end of season tournament to:
1. W-W-W (unchanged)
2. W-W-L (unchanged)
3. W-L-W (unchanged)
4. L-W-W (was 5th place)
5. W-L-L (was 4th place)
6. L-W-L (unchanged)
7. L-L-W (unchanged)
8. L-L-L (unchanged)

Finally please review the APL Rules, look particularly for things we are no longer doing or have changed and need to be updated.   I will send out a league wide notice with the same or similar information in a few days.  Look forward to seeing everyone next month.
