We took 3 of 4 matches from Holdin' Our Own last night; great job Moe!

Martino won the 1st match against Karle 2:1 in a 2:3.

Roger played a 2:6 battle against Scott; he took it to the hill by winning the 5th game and was matching Scott ball-for-ball in the final game. The game went down to the 8, with Roger having first crack. They each had multiple attempts, but unfortunately Scott prevailed, taking the match 1:6.

I played next against Andrew in a 2:3. I was shooting well, running 6 balls in my first turn at the table, and quickly won the 1st game. Andrew came back with his own, long run to win the 2nd game, but a 5 ball run in the 3rd set the stage for me to take the game and the match, 2:1.

While waiting for the rest of our players, we were finally(!!) able to play our outstanding makeup match against Bob's team, 7 Bucks. Roger played Jeff in a 2:4 which became a 2:5 due to the makeup penalty against 7 Bucks. Roger got off to a good start by winning the first game, making it a 1:5 and putting the pressure on Jeff. Jeff won the next couple of games and was on track to win the next, until he made a long cut on the 8, where he missed the pocket he was aiming for and pocketed the cue ball instead. Win and match for Roger, 2:2 (or so).

Az made it out to defend his place as top handicap on Moe and play our 4th scheduled match for the night, a 4:1 against Josh. Josh was shooting well for a -30-something in the first game, but Az held his ground and took the first game. Az continued shooting well while Josh's shooting aligned to a -30, including giving up a lot of ball-in-hand... Other than navigating around Josh's balls on the table, Az had little trouble winning the rest of his games and the match, 4:0.

We didn't have a 5th, so the match will need to be made up.

John
