We played Kevin's team (whose current name I forget).

I played first against Fred in a 2:4. I wasn't feeling it at all and
went down ignominiously, 0:4.

While I played my match, Martino played our last makeup against Les's
team. He played a new player, whose name I also forget (he used to
play in the league about 5 years ago on Ron Shepard's team), in a 2:4
matchup. Martino was a little cold, but doing OK, and started doing
better once he realized his opponent couldn't make long, cross-table
shots (due to having the wrong glasses...), but unfortunately, Martino
wasn't able to capitalize and lost, 0:4.

Having warmed up in that match though, Martino played the 2nd
scheduled match of the night against Scott Peterson, a 1:4. Scott was
shooting well, as Scott normal does, but Martino made a match of it.
After losing the first 2 games, Martino went on a 5-ball run to start
the 3rd, eventually getting to 8 well before Scott. Unfortunately,
all of Scott's remaining balls kept getting in the way, not giving
Martino a clean shot on the 8. Scott finally sank his balls and then
the 8 to win the 3rd game. In the hill game, Martino kept the
pressure on and was able to take advantage of a number of ball-in-hand
Scott gave up, getting to the 8 first again, but this time sinking it
before Scott for a game and match!

Next up was was Paul against another new player (Josh, iirc) in a
3:2. Paul opted for a slow and steady approach to the match, sinking
1 or 2 balls at a time during his turns at the table. That was more
than adequate, as Josh was struggling, sometimes even with his shot
selection. Paul was able to take care of Josh with little trouble,
winning the match 3:0.

The final match was played by Az against Kevin in 3:3. I missed most
of the play, but I think there was an 8-ball break, and Az was a bit
cold while Kevin wasn't missing, which all lead to a match loss for
Az, 0:3.

So we went 2 and 2 on the night, plus a loss against Les's team. Next
week we play X-Cue-Ses, Ron Shepard's/Jason Boggs's team.
