Dears,

I would like to ask if you can post a call for paper in the hpc-announce
emailing list. You can find the announcement in the attachment. Since
this is the first time, let me know if there is any issue.

Kind regards,
Davide.

Dear colleagues,

Apologies for possible cross-posting.

You are invited to submit your original research papers to the Special Issue "Advances in
Scientific Applications toward High-Performance Computing" of Electronics, MDPI.

Important Dates
------------------
Submission Deadline: 30 April 2024

Scope and Topics of Interests
--------------------------------
The use of supercomputers is becoming more appealing in a wide range of scientific fields.
One implication is the increasing trend to rewrite domain-specific applications in order to
improve computation efficiency. It is possible to apply a wide range of techniques to reach
this goal by targeting different components of high-performance computing. For example, it is
possible to hinge on accelerators to offload the most compute-intensive kernels. If the
application is I/O-intensive, it is possible to change how it interacts with the underlying
parallel file system. Moreover, it is possible to improve task synchronization in order to
increase the ability to scale up and out. This Special Issue aims to collect case studies that
use enhanced domain-specific applications in order to run more efficiently on a supercomputer
node. The submitted paper should highlight the purpose and relevance of domain-specific
applications, describe applied optimization techniques, measure their benefits on
representative datasets, and define the relationship with input features (if any).
The applied optimization techniques include, but are not limited to:
 - Parallel FS usage
 - Parallel and distribute programming
 - GP/GPU programming
 - Performance portability
 - Autotuning techniques

Submission Instructions
--------------------------
Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-
reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted)
and will be listed together on the special issue website. The Article Processing Charge (APC)
for publication in this open access journal is 2400 CHF (Swiss Francs). Authors may use MDPI's
English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions. If you have any questions regarding the submission procedure or APC, please contact the special issue editor Zackery Wang (zackery.wang at mdpi.com).

The hpc-announce mailing list has been setup to have a common mailing
list to share information with respect to upcoming HPC related
events. You are included in this mailing list based on your
participation or interest in a previous HPC conference or other event.

The purpose for providing a single mailing list is to allow
participants to easily identify such emails, and handle them
appropriately. Some options include:

1. If you feel that the number of such emails is too many, filter them
to less-frequently-read folders in your email client.

2. Change your subscription to a digest option
(https://lists.mcs.anl.gov/mailman/listinfo/hpc-announce) which will
consolidate emails sent that week into a single summary email. If you do not remember your password (which is needed to change these options), you can reset it using the "Unsubscribe or Edit Options" button at the bottom of the page.

3. Finally, if you do not wish to receive any emails from hpc-announce,
you can unsubscribe from the mailing list
(https://lists.mcs.anl.gov/mailman/listinfo/hpc-announce). Once
unsubscribed, we guarantee that you will not be added back in through
participation in a different HPC related conference or event. You will
need to send an email to hpc-announce-owner at mcs.anl.gov to be added
