Hello, please post the following on HPC-Announce:

Call for new author to take over Pacheco's "An Introduction to Parallel Programming"

Are you a seasoned academic/professional with a passion for parallel computing? I am seeking a qualified and enthusiastic individual to take over authorship of the leading undergraduate parallel computing textbook, "An Introduction to Parallel Programming," by Peter Pacheco and Matthew Malensek.

As Pacheco and Malensek are unable to dedicate time to work on a new edition, I am looking for someone with the requisite expertise in parallel computing to update and enhance this essential resource for students and educators.

Key requirements:
. Demonstrated expertise in parallel computing
. Experience teaching an undergraduate parallel computing course
. Familiarity with Pacheco's textbook desired but not required
. Strong communication skills and ability to explain complex concepts clearly
. Dedication to delivering high-quality educational materials

Responsibilities:
. Update existing content to reflect the latest advancements in parallel computing
. Develop new chapters or sections as needed to cover emerging topics and technologies
. Ensure accuracy, clarity, and accessibility of content for undergraduate students
. Collaborate with publishers and reviewers throughout the revision process

If you are interested in this opportunity, please contact Steve Merken, Elsevier/Morgan Kaufmann senior acquisitions editor for engineering and computing textbooks at mailto: steve.merken at elsevier.com for more information.
