Supercomputing Spotlights is a new webinar series featuring short presentations that highlight the impact and successes of high-performance computing (HPC) throughout our world. Presentations, emphasizing achievements and opportunities in HPC, are intended for the broad international community, especially students and newcomers to the field. Supercomputing Spotlights is an outreach initiative of SIAG/Supercomputing (https://siag-sc.org/) …  Join us!

Abstract: Join us for this new panel-style webinar focusing on quantum computing and its role in HPC. Several quantum computing companies from around the world will highlight their unique hardware and software solutions and contribute to a lively discussion on the future of quantum acceleration in the HPC ecosystem. Engage with the panelists, spark discussions and ask anything you’ve ever wanted to know about quantum and the role it could play in the future of HPC.

Moderator Bio: Laura Schulz is currently the department head of Quantum Computing and Technologies at the Leibniz Supercomputing Centre (LRZ) in Garching, Germany where she drives multiple efforts toward integrating emerging quantum accelerators into several layers of the high-performance computing (HPC) ecosystem. Laura is the PI for Germany’s Euro-Q-Exa project to seat a EuroHPC Joint Undertaking quantum system in Bavaria and manages a robust portfolio of funded projects and a great team to achieve LRZ’s quantum strategy. Before joining LRZ, she was part of the Computation directorate at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) as well as LLNL’s High Performance Computing Innovation Center (HPCIC). Recently, Laura was named an HPCWire 2023 Person to Watch.
