Control for Computing Systems

Special Issue @ TAAS

ACM Transactions on Autonomous and Adaptive Systems

https://dl.acm.org/journal/taas/calls-for-papers

Submission deadline: June 1st, 2023

************************************************************

Computing systems, from large (data centers in the Cloud) to small (embedded architectures), have a growing need to be dynamically reconfigurable to deal with changing environments and workloads, using control loops to be efficient, safe, and robust. Whereas computing for control is a well-established domain, control for computing systems is still quite novel, explored only in recent years.

The aim of this special issue is to propose a multi-disciplinary gathering around Control Theory as a novel approach for modeling and implementing self-adaptive, autonomic computing systems, with challenges in modeling of these systems and exploring relevant control techniques for problems where automation has not been introduced yet. This new approach for the design of autonomic managers paves the way for contributions in all aspects of self-adaptive systems, from software architectures, modeling, identification, estimation, and implementation, trustworthiness, to regulation.
