Corbin,

   The Open Sound web page gives instructions for fixing the OSS cannot 
load problem you describe (www.opensound.com).     We are using the analog 
Match Maker so I'm not sure about the noise problem, but the Digital Match 
Maker may be over driven.  Try lowering the levels all around in small 
increments. Over-modulated audio in the digital domain can be ugly.
