Only the type.  The functions would have to remain interface-specific, since not all implementations use the same 
iterator implementation for iMesh, iGeom and iRel.  That's essentially the same reason we have getEntities or equivalent 
in iGeom and iMesh.

Yeah, that looks suspicious to me too.  Jim, did you find that odd?  Does anybody remember the rationale for those?
