In fact, the current iMesh compliance tests will run with any arbitrary 
input file.  Yes, this is something of a problem, in that all the tests 
are effectively internal consistency tests on some level.  The new 
modular framework (whenever I have time and/or student power available 
to get that coded) will require that an implementation have some way of 
getting its internal state to match some legacy VTK file.  This will 
make it possible to test correctness of adjacency calls and vertex 
coords, etc.  Sets and tags are being (and will continue to be) tested 
under the assumption that create/set/get tuples will exist.
