It uses an ID that is put in at compile time.

Restarting works with the concurrent mapper unless you've touched the 
source file (in which case, it seems reasonable (to me) that restarts are 
ignored, and probably should be more enforced, irrespective of whether the 
concurrent mapper is used or not)
