[Swift-devel] symlinks on gpfs

Whilst playing witht he wrapper this week I remembered something I thought 
before and think I forgot about.

It would be interesting to see how symlinks vs hardlinks behave speedwise 
on GPFS - symlinks will always have an extra layer of indirection to a 
possibly contended shared directory; hardlinks, I think, would avoid that 
indirection by linking directly to the file data.
