So looks like you have to use StrumpackDensePackage.h with "extern C". i.e mainSDP.cc should have:

#include <petsc.h>
extern "C" {
#include "StrumpackDensePackage.h"
}


[usually such details should be handled in the public include file - and not exposed to the user..]
