Configure Options: --configModules=PETSc.Configure --optionsModule=PETSc.compilerOptions --with-debugging=0 --with-cc=/opt/cray/xt-asyncpe/5.19/bin/cc --with-fc=/opt/cray/xt-asyncpe/5.19/bin/ftn --with-mpiexec=aprun --download-metis=1 --download-parmetis=1 --with-clib-autodetect=0 --with-cxxlib-autodetect=0 --with-fortranlib-autodetect=0 --prefix=/global/homes/g/gpau/tough_codes/esd-tough3/build/Linux-x86_64-MPI-eco2n-Release/toughlib


Can you use the additional option --with-cxx=0 ?
[or perhaps --with-cxx=/opt/cray/xt-asyncpe/5.19/bin/CC]
