[petsc-users] Local Refinement?

Dear All,
     I hope you're having a nice day.
     I'm trying to use PETSc to program a Poisson Solver with local 
refinement grid (or adaptive mesh). Is that possible? I checked DMDA 
functions and found DMDASetRefinementFactor. Is this what I need to look 
into? or it is only for overall refinement in Multigrid solver?
