memory consumed : using log_summary

Hi all,

                This is Ravi Kannan from CFD Research Corporation. How does
one interpret the memory consumed (in parallel) for object types like Vec
Scatter, matrix  etc when using the output obtained from log_summary. For
instance, the "Matrix" object type in many simulations decrease half in size
when the # of procs is doubled. So is the number shown as simple as the
average size stored per processor OR is am I missing something more deeper?
