installation Petsc 3.0.0 and parmetis

Hi Petsc team
I've installed petsc 3.0.0 with parmetis for use with superlu_dist. 
Everything compiles well, but when I link with my application code I get 
undefined reference to METIS_mCPartGraphRecursive2. Do I need to set any 
LD paths or something pointing to the 'externalpackages' directory or 
should this be taken care of by Petsc?
