PETSc and gfortran

I'm such an idiot... PETSc was compiled with an older version of 
gfortran than what I compiled my code with.  gdb illuminated this for me 
(it was looking for the old gfortran libraries that weren't there). 
Sorry to waste your time. Everything is working now.  Thanks again for 
your prompt help.
