[petsc-dev] make: print path to mpi.h

While rebuilding a configuration with C++ on macOS, I got this weird
output:

Using system modules:

error: invalid argument '-std=c++14' not allowed with 'C'

Using mpi.h:

-----------------------------------------

We are obviously messing C vs CXX flags somewhere.
